That story led to yet another fun bus story. Madi begged me in 2nd grade to start letting her ride the bus. Against my better judgement, I did let her ride. We love our bus driver, Miss Sandra. It's been a good experience. After telling me about the Spanish speaking substitute driver, Madi recalled her 1st day on the bus. Miss Sandra was not driving the bus that day. It was another lady who Madi said didn't yell at all or every say ANYTHING to the kids. Needless to say, the bus was a zoo. Kids were loud and crazy and Madi was scared. (Interesting she never mentioned this at the time when I was BEGGING her to let me drive her to school). When they arrived at the school, Miss Sandra was waiting to talk to the lady driving the bus. Miss Sandra told the other lady that she had taken her route. Evidently, Miss Sandra was quite upset about it and Madi told me that Miss Sandra "hip hopped her right off the bus." Now I had to ask what that means - hip hopping someone off the bus? Madi said you know - hip hop - as she swung her hips from one side to the other, her head was going, and her finger was wagging. Miss Sandra hip hopped that woman right off the bus! Oh my little Madi is just too much :)

Madi Says the FUNNIEST Things!
Whenever I ask Madi about her day, she says it was good but doesn't give me a whole lot more than that. Last week, for some strange reason, she was extra chatty. Her bus driver was on a cruise, so there were two other ladies taking turns as the substitute. Madi said that one of the drivers is a screamer. Always yelling at the kids. The funny part was Madi said when the bus driver gets upset, Madi can't understand her. She speaks Spanish when she's upset. I have seen this woman, and she does NOT speak Spanish ;) Anytime someone speaks in a way that is slightly different from the way we talk and she has trouble understanding, she assumes it is Spanish.
